Koolmat #09062 Heatbuster Panel – Air Pocket Heat Shield (KMT/Nomex)

Reduce cockpit heat and protect the driver’s foot area with the Koolmat #09062 Heatbuster Panel. Built from a KMT/Nomex combination, this 12″ x 10″ x 1/4″ panel creates an “air pocket” barrier that lifts and separates your foot or right leg from hot metal floors and exhaust heat. By allowing heat to pass underneath the panel, it keeps temperatures down where it matters most—your airspace.

This aircraft-grade panel (1 lb. density, 1/8″ cell) can be trimmed or shaped to fit footwells, transmission tunnels, and other high-heat zones. Install easily using rivets, screws, or adhesive. For maximum protection, cover the entire front floor with additional Koolmat insulation to further block radiant heat.

Installation Tips:

• Race Applications (CUP/NASCAR Trucks): Lift existing floor insulation, rivet the Heatbuster panel beneath the foot area, then reinstall insulation over top.

• Seat & Cabin Heat Control: Apply inside the seat area, around seat belt mounts, or near oil tanks to reduce heat transfer to the driver’s back and sides.

• Patch Method: Use insulation that extends 4–5 inches beyond the panel on all sides. Secure with rivets or bolts, then cover fully with Koolmat for best results.

• Air Box Fix: Wrap Koolmat around an existing air box and elevate it off the floor to reduce heat buildup throughout the race.

For expanded coverage, pair with Koolmat insulation such as #07033 (4′ x 30″ section) to fully seal out heat and improve driver comfort and safety.
